Korzhenevskaia Peak
one of the highest mountain peaks in the northwest spur of the Academy of Sciences Range in Tadzhik SSR. It is situated at the upper end of Mushketov Glacier (Muksu River basin). Altitude, 7,105 m. The peak was discovered in 1910 and named in honor of E. Korzhenevskaia, the wife and collaborator of N. L. Korzhenevskii, a Soviet researcher of the geography of Middle Asia. The first ascent of the mountain was made in 1953 by a party of Soviet alpinists led by A. Ugarov; 368 ascents had been made by 1972.
