Koshnai
Koshnai
or kushnai, an Uzbek and Tadzhik wind instrument. It consists of two connected reed pipes of the same length (approximately 250 mm), with single reeds cut at the upper ends and seven playing holes cut into the lower parts. The Koshnai has a diatonic scale within one octave (when overblown, it ranges two octaves with chromatic sounds). The instrument has a powerful sound.
