Kosmicheskie Issledovaniia
(Space Studies), a scientific journal of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, published in Moscow. It was founded in August 1963 on the basis of the nonperiodic collection Isskustvennye sputniki Zemli (Artificial Earth Satellites), which totaled 17 issues. Six issues of Kosmicheskie issledovaniia are published annually.
The journal publishes original studies on the flight dynamics of space vehicles; results of studies in cosmic physics and astronomy, including theoretical studies and descriptions of instruments used in space and the design of space vehicles; and studies in space biology and medicine. The journal also includes surveys of the major problems in space studies and current events. The circulation (1971) is about 1,700. Kosmicheskie issledovaniia is published in English in the USA.
