Kozlov, Genrikh Abramovich
Born Feb. 4. 1901, in Vilnius. Soviet economist, corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1968). Became a member of the CPSU in 1920.
Since graduation from the economic division of the Institute of the Red Professoriat (1926), Kozlov has been engaged in scholarly work and teaching. In 1946 he became head (chief) of the subdepartment of political economy of the Higher Party School under the Central Committee of the CPSU. At the same time, he worked for the State Planning Commission of the USSR in 1928–29, was a member of the board of Gosbank (State Bank) from 1931 to 1934, and was engaged in party work from 1934 to 1937.
Kozlov’s main works are on the theory of commodity circulation, the law of value and currency circulation, and the general methodology of political economy and Lenin’s contributions to that methodology. Kozlov has helped prepare a number of textbooks and lecture courses on political economy. He has been awarded six orders and several medals.
