A gene on chromosome 5q21.2 that encodes an enzyme which hydrolyses NAD(P)H to NMNH and AMP (2',5'-ADP), as well as diadenosine diphosphate to AMP; it also acts on NAD(P)(+), ADP-ribose and diadenosine triphosphate. NUDT12 may regulate the concentration of nicotinamide nucleotide cofactors required for oxidative metabolism in peroxisomes.
