Ordzhonikidze Peak
Ordzhonikidze Peak
a mountain peak of the Pamir Mountains in the Tadzhik SSR. Rising to an elevation of 6,346 m, it is located east of Communism Peak, on the crest of the eastern spur of the Akademiia Nauk Range. There are snowfields and névés on the slopes. Ordzhonikidze Peak was named in honor of G. K. Ordzhonikidze. The first ascent of its summit was achieved in 1937 by O. D. Aristov, V. M. Kirkorov, and N. A. Gusak, members of the Pamir Expedition.
