Krasnye Baki

(formerly Baki), an urban-type settlement, the administrative center of Krasnye Baki Raion, Gorky Oblast, RSFSR. A landing on the right bank of the Vetluga River (a tributary of the Volga), 9 km south of the Vetluzhskaia station on the Gorky-Kirov line. A branch of the Udarnik Wood-Products Combine, the formalin shop of the Vetluga Wood Chemistry Combine, and a milk combine are there. A state forestry station-technicum is also in Krasnye Baki.
