Krasnye Okny

(Okny until 1920), an urban-type settlement, the administrative center of Krasnye Okny Raion, Odessa Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Located on the Sukhoi lagorlyk River (a left tributary of the Dnestr), which is drying up. It is 20 km from the Chubovka station on the Zhmerinka-Odessa line and 175 km northwest of Odessa. A cheese dairy, a winery and juice plant, a mixed feed plant, and a section of a vegetable-oil factory are there. The settlement also has an artificial insemination station.
