Kresttsy

an urban-type settlement; center of Kresttsy Raion, Novgorod Oblast, RSFSR. Situated on the Kholova River (Lake Il’men’ basin), on the Moscow-Leningrad highway, 85 km southeast of Novgorod. Kresttsy is the terminal station on the 58-km railroad branch line from Valdai (Bologoe-Dno line). Kresttsy has a logging and timber-distribution establishment, a flax mill, the Krestetskaia Strochka Factory (see), and a dairy; there is also production of furniture.
