Apple Address Resolution Protocol

(networking)(AARP) Apple's system to allow AppleTalkprotocol to work over networks other than LocalTalk, suchas Ethernet or Token Ring. AppleTalk nodes announcetheir presence to the network so that other nodes can addressmessages to them. AARP maps between AppleTalk addresses andother schemes. It is actually a general address mappingprotocol that can be used to map between addresses at anyprotocol level.
