Oberek

a Polish folk dance performed by couples. It originated in Kujawy. The meter is 3/8 or 3/4, with the accent usually falling on the third beat of the second bar. The dance has a fast tempo and is often performed after a slow kujawiak. An example of the oberek is Chopin’s Mazurka No. 4 for piano.
