Nardaran
Nardaran
an urban-type settlement in the Azerbaijan SSR, in Lenin Raion of the city of Baku. Carpets are manufactured, and there is a vegetable-growing and dairy sovkhoz. Among the noteworthy architectural monuments is a castle built in 1301 by the architect Makhmud, son of Saad, which is situated in the center of a square courtyard surrounded by a wall. There are baths, which were constructed in 1388 by the architect Hush-tasif, son of Musa, a mausoleum (14th century), and the khan’s summer house (15th century). The Hadji-Bahshi mosque, built in 1663 by the architect Murad Ali, is also in Nardaran.
