Kripke, Saul (Aaron)

(1940– ) philosopher, logician; born in Bay Shore, N.Y. Educated at Harvard, he was a fellow and lecturer there (1963–67), then taught at Rockefeller University (1967–76) and Princeton (from 1976). A prodigy in his field, he make remarkable advances in logic in such papers as "Naming and Necessity" (1972).
