Kristiansen, Henry Wilhelm
Born Oct. 12, 1902; died Feb. 28, 1942. A member of the Norwegian labor movement. Member of the revolutionary youth movement from 1916; member of the Communist Party of Norway (CPN) from 1923.
Kristiansen was elected to the Central Committee of the CPN. He was editor of several party publications from 1926 to 1929 and from 1934 to 1941. From 1929 to 1931 he lived in the USSR. Kristiansen was chairman of the CPN from 1931 to 1934 and became secretary of the Central Committee of the CPN in 1934. After the invasion of Norway by fascist German troops in April 1940, Kristiansen was among those who organized the Resistance Movement. In the fall of 1941 he was arrested by the occupation authorities and died in a concentration camp.
