Special Features:San Diego became California's first Spanish settlement when a missionand fort were established there in 1769. The historic park recreateslife in the Mexican and early American periods of 1821 to 1872.Historic buildings include homes with artifacts that reflect ordinarylife of the period, a schoolhouse, a blacksmith shop, San Diego's firstnewspaper office, and a stable with a carriage collection. Fiveoriginal adobes are part of the complex.
