Naumov, Stepan Stepanovich

 

Born about 1849 in the city of Lipovtsy, Kiev Province (present-day Lipovets, Vinnitsa Oblast); died Nov. 24 (Dec. 7), 1905, in Odessa. Russian worker and revolutionary.

Naumov began working as a printer in Odessa in 1868; he joined the staff of E. O. Zaslavskii’s printing shop in December 1874. In 1875 he became a member of the administrative body of the Southern Union of Russian Workers and was in charge of the distribution of illegal literature. He was arrested in January 1876 and exiled to Siberia; he went to Kursk in 1884. Naumov took part in the Revolution of 1905–07.
