DictionarySeeOLEDOLED lighting
OLED lightingUsing organic LEDs for lighting. Whereas LED bulbs replace the traditional incandescent, halogen or compact fluorescent (CFL) bulb, white OLEDs (WOLEDs) provide a source of soft ambient light in flat panels. OLED lights can be flat or shaped into various designs, and they are very efficient. An incandescent bulb emits 10 to 15 lumens per watt; fluorescent from 40 to 90. However, in 2014, Cree was the first company to achieve 300 lumens per watt in a mixed WOLED/LED light bulb. See WOLED, LED bulb, OLED and OLED layers.
