Library CardLibrary Carda standardized card used for record keeping in libraries. A library card may be a borrower’s card or book card. The book card shows basic information about the book, such as the author, title, volume or issue number, and catalog code; it also includes the borrower’s card number and the date the book is due. The circulation of a book is learned from these records. The borrower’s card contains brief information about the borrower. When a reader takes books out of the library, the date of issue, identification number, author, and title of each are recorded on his card.
