Narody Azii i Afriki

(Peoples of Asia and Africa), a journal of the Institute of Oriental Studies and the Africa Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. Founded in 1955 in Moscow. From 1955 to 1958 the journal was called Sovetskoe vostokovedenie (Soviet Oriental Studies); from 1959 to 1961 it was called Problemy vostokovedeniia (Problems of Oriental Studies).

Narody Azii i Afriki prints research articles, reviews, notices, a bibliography on the history, economy, politics, and culture of the peoples of Asia and Africa, and news items on current developments in scholarship and science. It is published six times a year. Circulation, 4,000 (1974).
