n.	1.An apparatus for raising a liquid by pressure of air or steam in a reservoir containing the liquid.

Monte-Jus

a displacement pump whose operation is based on displacement of a fluid by compressed air (sometimes steam); it is used in the food industry and in oil-reclamation plants. The monte-jus delivers fluid to a height of up to 300 m.
