Montel, Paul

 

Born Apr. 29, 1876, in Nice. French mathematician. Member of the Paris Academy of Sciences (1937). Professor at the University of Paris from 1911 to 1946.

Montel worked on the theory of analytic functions, most importantly the application of the principle of compactness to the theory of analytic functions.
