释义 | Maritime AlpsMar·i·time AlpsM0111800 (măr′ĭ-tīm′)Maritime AlpsMar′itime Alps′n. Maritime AlpsMaritime Alpsa division of the Alps in Italy and France. The Maritime Alps extend for approximately 150 km in the shape of an arc that bulges to the south. There are elevations to 3,297 m (Punta dell’ Argentera). Low narrow ranges with rocky peaks are situated in the west; the ranges are less jagged in the east. The mountains are composed primarily of limestones, crystalline rocks (in the west), and flysch (in the east). The lower slopes are sparsely covered with oak and pine forests; higher up there are mixed and coniferous forests and subalpine meadows. The southern spurs border the Ligurian Sea, forming the picturesque Côte d’Azur and the Italian Riviera. |
