Krymsk

(until 1958, the stanitsa [large cossack village] of Krymskaia), a city and center of Krymsk Raion, Krasnodar Krai, RSFSR. It is located on the Adagum River (a tributary of the Kuban’). Railroad junction for lines to Krasnodar, Novorossiisk, Kerch’, and Timashevskaia. Population, 41,000 (1970). The city is the site of the Krymsk Canning Combine, a winery, a brewery, and a dairy. Krymsk also has a food industry technicum.
