Krüger flap

Krüger flap

Krüger flapA form of leading-edge wing flap hinged at the bottom of the side of an airfoil. It flushes with the airfoil when retracted and increases overall camber when extended, thus increasing the lift. This type of flap is used on high-performance aircraft during takeoffs and landings when Krüger flaps deflect the airflow onto the trailing edge.
