Miniature Range
Miniature Range
a practice artillery range that is a re-production of the relief of a terrain (a relief map usually on a scale of 1:300 to 1:1,000) equipped with targets and a special device that simulates the explosion of shells. It is used for teaching artillery fire against ground and air targets. The miniature range is set up in a building or on open terrain. It makes it possible to study the rules of artillery fire in a practical manner and to conduct artillery marksmanship training.
