Narva Reservoir

 

a reservoir created in 1955–56 by a dam on the Narva River for the Narva Hydroelectric Power Plant. Located in Leningrad Oblast, RSFSR, and the Estonian SSR. Surface area, 191 sq km.; capacity, 0.37 cu km; length, 40 km.; greatest width, 15 km. The water flow in the Narva Reservoir may be regulated daily or weekly. Its level varies by 0.5 m. There is fishing in the reservoir (including bream, pike, and perch).
