Oleinik, Boris Il’ich

 

Born Oct. 22, 1935, in the village of Zachepilovka, present-day Novye Sanzhary Raion, Poltava Oblast. Soviet Ukrainian poet. Member of the CPSU since 1961.

Oleinik graduated from the department of journalism of the University of Kiev in 1958. His work was first published in 1950. Oleinik is the author of the collections of lyric poetry Blacksmiths Temper Steel (1962), Echo (1970), On the Line of Silence (1972), and Motion (1973).

Oleinik received the N. Ostrovskii State Prize of the Ukrainian SSR in 1964.
