Olenek Gulf

a gulf of the Laptev Sea in the Yakut ASSR between the islands of the Lena River delta in the east and mainland Asia in the south and west. It is 65 km long, about 130 km wide, and up to 15 m deep. The Olenek River, the Olenek channel of the Lena River, and other rivers empty into the gulf. From mid-October until the end of June it is covered by ice. It is entirely free of ice in August and September.
