Kuna

a monetary unit of ancient Rus’, in circulation until the late 14th century or early 15th. The term kuna was derived from the name for a marten (kunitsa) pelt, which had a currency value in the tenth and 11th centuries. During that period, the silver content of one kuna was equal to one twenty-fifth of a grivna (a unit of weight); from the 12th through early 14th centuries, a kuna was equal to one-fifth of a grivna-kuna (a monetary unit).
