Kupe

 

the Russian word for:

(1) compartment, or accommodations in a railroad coach, separated from the corridor by a door. A compartment may have two, three, or four hard or cushioned passenger berths. In some countries railroad cars are built with compartments seating six people or accommodating only one.

(2) Coupe, the closed passenger compartment of a two-door passenger automobile, with one row of seats and a supplementary collapsible seat in the rear.
