Kurakhovka

an urban-type settlement in Donetsk Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Located on the bank of the Volch’ia River (Dnieper basin), 4 km from the Kurakhovka railroad station, the terminus of a branch from the Krasnoarmeisk-Rutchenkovo line. Coal is extracted there, and the city has a coal-concentrating plant and electrical-engineering workshops.
