Aromani

 

Tzintzars, Macedo-Rumanians, Kutzo-Vlachs (in Albania, Vlechs), a people similar to the Rumanians who live in isolated groups in Yugoslavia, Albania, and Greece. The total population is more than 200,000 (1967 estimate). They speak the Aromani dialect, which is closely related to the Rumanian language. The religion of the majority is Orthodoxy, and some (in Albania) profess Islam. Most of the Aromani are engaged in farming; others live in the cities.
