Kureika
Kureika
(also Liuma, Numa), a river in the Krasnoiarsk Krai, RSFSR, and a right tributary of the Yenisei. It is 888 km long and drains an area of 44,700 sq km. The Kureika rises on the southern slopes of the Putorana Plateau. For most of its length it flows through the northern part of the Central Siberian Plateau in a deep valley. It flows through two narrow, long lakes —the Anama and Diupkun—which separate a section full of rapids. The river is fed mainly by snow. The average discharge at the mouth is 664 cu m per sec. The river freezes in mid-October and thaws in late May. It is navigable for 130 km from its mouth.
