Kurtushibinskii
Kurtushibinskii
a mountain range in the Zapadnyi Saian, on the border of Krasnoiarsk Krai and the Tuva ASSR, RSFSR. The range is about 200 km long and extends from the valley of the upper Enisei in the west to the source of the Us River in the northeast. In the southwest and northeast elevations exceed 2,000 m, reaching the maximum of 2,492 m (Mount Bedelig). The Kurtushibinskii Range is composed mainly of crystalline schists, tuffs, limestones, and quartzites broken by intrusions of peridotites and granites. The lower central part of the mountain range is crossed by the Abakan-Kyzyl highway. The slopes are covered with larch and cedar forests.
