Lucien Leopold Jottrand

Jottrand, Lucien Leopold

 

Born June 30, 1804, in Genappe, Brabant; died Dec. 12, 1877, in Brussels. Belgian politician and publicist; lawyer by profession.

Jottrand was active in the Belgian Revolution of 1830, which put an end to Dutch rule. In 1847 he founded the Democratic Association, which defended the views of C. H. Saint-Simon and C. Fourier.
