Lucilius, Gaisu
Born circa 180 B.C., in Campania; died 102 B.C., in Naples. Roman poet.
Lucilius belonged to the slaveholding elite. His saturae, which vary in content, language, and poetic meter, touched on the morals, politics, philosophy, religion, and literature of Rome in the period of the Gracchi.
