The width of the gulf at itsentrance is approxmately 46 km, and its maximum depth is 38m. The shores of the gulf are low-lying and the southern shoreis bordered with coral reefs. Tides are semidiurnal, with a heightof more than 3 m. The port of Okha is located on the southern side of the entrance to the gulf.
