Mensu

 

a glacier on the northeastern slope of Mount Belukha in the Katun’ Range of the Altai. Length, 10.5 km. Area, 13.2 sq km. Elevation at the snow line, 2,750 m. The terminus of the glacier is located at an elevation of 1,930 m. Mensu has the greatest ice fall of the Altai glaciers, with a width of 1,000 m and a height of 250 m. The glacier gives rise to the ledygem River (a left tributary of the Argut).
