Nashe Delo

(Our Cause), a monthly journal that served as the main organ of the Menshevik-Liquidators and the Social-Chauvinists in Russia. It was published in St. Petersburg from January 1915 as the successor to Nasha zaria (Our Dawn); in all, six issues appeared. Among the members of its editorial staff were E. Maevskii (V. A. Gutovskii), P. P. Maslov, A. N. Potresov, and N. Cherevanin. V. I. Lenin pointed out that the “legalist” opportunism expressed in Nashe delo used social chauvinism to supplement the policy of liquidating the party as a revolutionary organization (Poln. sobr. soch., 5th ed., vol. 26, p. 293). While gently criticizing tsarism and the bourgeoisie, Nashe delo called on the Russian proletariat to support the tsarist government’s war against Germany. The journal actively opposed the Bolsheviks.
