Moore, Charles

(1925–1993)A leading figure of postmodernism, who was also notable as a university teacher and writer. Architectural history played a part in his designs, which are tempered with fancy, myth, and evocative motifs. These are typified in the Piazza d’Italia (illus.), New Orleans, LA (1975). Other work includes houses at Sea Ranch, CA (1970), and the Beverly Hills Civic Center (illus.), Los Angeles, CA (1985).
