Oder-Spree Canal
a canal in the German Democratic Republic, extending from the southeastern edge of Berlin on the Spree to Wernsdorf on the Oder. It is 83.7 km long and has an average depth of 1.85 m. It has five locks to compensate for the difference in elevation (15 m) along its course. The cities of Fürstenwalde and Eisenhüttenstadt are situated along the canal.
