Moore space

Moore space

[′mür ‚spās] (mathematics) A topological space that has a sequence of coverings by open sets, such that each member of the sequence is a subcollection of the previous one, and such that, for any two points, x and y, of an open set S in the space, there is an open covering in the sequence such that the closure of any member of this covering that includes x is a subset of S and does not include y.
