Lukoianov

a city (since 1779), the administrative center of Lukoianov Raion, in the south of Gorky Oblast, RSFSR. Located on the Tesha River (Oka basin). Lukoianov has a railroad station on the Gorky-Krasnyi Uzel line, 173 km southeast of Gorky. A bearing repair plant, a brickyard, a plant making keramzit (a construction material), a dairy, and a house-building combine are there. Lukoianov has medical and pedagogical schools.
