Nasrulla Khan

Nasrulla Khan

Year of birth unknown; died 1860. Emir of the Bukhara Khanate from 1826; member of the Mangyt dynasty. On several occasions during his rule, Nasrulla Khan unsuccessfully attempted to eliminate the fragmented feudal system of land ownership and political allegiances. He continued the fruitless struggle with the neighboring state of Shahrisabz and with the Kokand and Kiva khanates. Nasrulla Khan is generally remembered as a bloody despot.
