Kärdla

a city (since 1938), the administrative center of Hiu-maa Raion, Estonian SSR. Located on the northern coast of Hiumaa Island. Kärdla is linked by water transport with the nearest railroad station at Haapsalu, 59 km away. Kärdla is a logging center.
