Barlow's equation

[′bär‚lōz i′kwā·zhən] (mechanics) A formula, t = DP /2 S, used in computing the strength of cylinders subject to internal pressures, where t is the thickness of the cylinder in inches, D the outside diameter in inches, P the pressure in pounds per square inch, and S the allowable tensile strength in pounds per square inch.
