Location:Along the Illinois River near East Peoria, off IL 26.
Facilities:Tent and trailer campsites (some with electricity and water), canoecampsites, picnic area with shelters (no drinking water), multi-usetrail (3.5 miles), boat ramp.
Activities:Camping, boating, canoeing, fishing, wildlife viewing, birdwatching,hiking, hunting, backpacking, cross-country skiing, ice fishing.
Special Features:Park lies along 10 miles of Illinois River backwaters, bottomlands, andbluffs in the heart of the mallard duck flyway. The backwater lakesattract large flights of waterfowl during migration, but only the woodduck remains during summer to nest and raise young. Great blue heronalso are found on the backwaters, and during the winter it's possibleto see bald eages there.
