Marshall, Thomas R. (Riley)

(1854–1925) vice-president, governor; born in North Manchester, Ind. He served as Woodrow Wilson's vice-president (1913–21), the first vice-president to serve for two full terms in nearly one hundred years. During Woodrow Wilson's illness (1919–21), he refused to take any action that might have led to his replacing the incapacitated president.
