Special Features:Also known as Point Santa Cruz, this area forms the northern boundaryof Monterey Bay and is one of the last open headlands in any Californiaurban area. This is one of the places along the California coast whereMonarch butterflies spend the winter. The rare Black Swift is alsodrawn to the area, and sea lions populate the offshore rocks. Thelighthouse is home to California's first surfing museum, tracing morethan 100 years of surfing history in Santa Cruz.
