Marsh George Perkins
Marsh, George Perkins 1801-1882. American politician, environmentalist, and linguist who served as a US representative from Vermont (1843-49) and US minister to Turkey (1849-53) and Italy (1861-82). His book Man and Nature (1864) is considered a founding work of the American environmental movement. |
